INTERVIEW OF SARAH AND FREDDIE ON SCOOBY DOO.
FREDDIE PRINZE, JR. (Fred)
You're a huge Scooby fan. Are you happy with the way this all turned out?
I couldn't be more proud. I've never met a fan as big as me and the movie surpassed all of my expectations. I'm a huge fan.
Can you describe how you played your character?
'Fred' always showed more arrogance than everyone else so in the movie, I took the opportunity to make him as narcissistic and self-loving as possible. I certainly loved being Fred.
Why should all of your fans come out and see the movie?
Because it's a fun film. It's Scooby Doo man, it's what it's about. Who didn't watch "Scooby Doo?" And now, it's like larger than life. Also, because I'll come and hurt you all if you don't come see it (laughing).
How do you take a known character like Daphne and make her your own?
I think on a whole, you have to honor what's already established and what's on the page, but you do have to make it your own at the same time. It's a tricky line. I just took little bits of what was on the page and what was on the cartoon and mixed it with a little Sarah. It worked out pretty well I think.
